we are

Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund (AEF) is a not-for-profit initiative launched by Alibaba Group in 2015. Our mission is to help Hong Kong-based entrepreneurs and young people realize their dreams and visions for their startup businesses and communities. We are also passionate about fostering the entrepreneurial spirit amongst young people. As such, we have established in Hong Kong a HK$1 billion fund with a pioneering and sustainable model.

What
we do
Empower Startups

We invest in promising startups with innovative businesses and technologies. These companies will be selected by independent investment manager appointed by AEF. They will enjoy access to financial capital, obtain strategic guidance and tap into Mainland China, Asia and global opportunities through Alibaba’s ecosystem.

STARTUP INVESTMENT:

We invest in startups through AEF Hong Kong Fund and AEF Greater Bay Area Fund to help them scale up their businesses.

Support Innovation

Our initiatives are centred around nurturing entrepreneurship among young people and developing Hong Kong startup ecosystem.

We also bridge corporates, investors and startups together to transform Hong Kong into a global innovation and technology hub.

  • HKAI LAB is a non-profit initiative that is fully funded by AEF and Sense Times, and supported by HKSTP, Alibaba Cloud and Alibaba DAMO Academy. Its aim is to advance the development of AI with cutting-edge technology and expertise.
  • JUMPSTARTER is a first-of-its kind startup event in Hong Kong focused exclusively on showcasing quality startups from around the world, providing high-impact networking opportunities and raising the awareness of innovation and technology.
  • Venture Hours enables aspiring entrepreneurs and startups to gain industry knowledge and expert advice on their pitched ideas from business practitioners.
  • Nurturing Youth Entrepreneurship through a series of programs dedicated to enhance entrepreneurial spirit among students in Hong Kong.
